Their story
Sulav lives on the edge of Dhanusa with his father, Bishnu, and his older sister, in a modest home in a densely packed neighborhood. His mother left the family when he was very young, and his father has raised both children largely on his own — working long hours as a taxi driver to keep the household running. Income isn't steady; during the monsoon season especially, fewer people need rides, and money gets even tighter.
Despite the pressures at home, Sulav brings real energy to everything he does — especially on the football field. He plays midfielder for his school team and has represented them in two inter-school tournaments, including a semi-final run where he scored a goal he still talks about with pride. His coach believes he has genuine potential, but consistent training is hard when the family can't always afford proper football boots or the small registration fees tournaments require.
In the classroom, Sulav is steady rather than exceptional — he puts real effort into subjects he enjoys, especially science, though English remains a struggle. His father hopes that with more consistent schooling, and maybe some extra tutoring, Sulav could close that gap and build toward something in sports science or physical education — a path that would let him combine his love of football with a stable career.
